Ellen M. Mellody is a founding partner at Collective Consulting (C2), a strategic communications, business intelligence and public affairs firm. Ellen brings more than 20 years of entertainment, technology, political, corporate and strategic communications experience to clients.
Prior to founding C2, Ellen worked with two White House administrations, Comcast-NBC Universal, General Electric and The North Face. She also brought her expertise to three presidential campaigns and the Office of the New Jersey Governor, where she worked with top-tier elected officials, media, artists and talent from around the globe. Throughout her career she has served in various locations around the globe including in Sydney, Baghdad, São Paulo and Sarajevo.
Ellen served as the Director of Corporate Communications at Comcast, a global media and technology company. There, Ellen developed and executed communications strategies to drive awareness of company-wide initiatives and efforts, strategic partnerships with technology providers, studios, artists and musicians, along with Xfinity technologies, products and services. Launching more than 200+ consumer apps, Ellen also worked to position Comcast as “the place” to experience entertainment across screens during a pivotal time in the entertainment, music and media industries.
In 2008, Ellen joined Obama for America campaign as a Press Secretary responsible for creating and executing strategic communications, media relations, digital and earned media strategies. Her efforts helped to secure a sizable win in Pennsylvania, a state critical to the 2008 bid for the presidency.
From 2005 to 2008, Ellen worked at GE Water as the Global Communication & Media Relations Manager, cultivating and implementing its global strategic, digital and crisis communications as well as its international media relations. Ellen also served as a primary spokesperson to New Jersey Governor James E. McGreevey in a post 9-11 environment; the Southern Communications Director for the Gore- Lieberman Campaign; the Special Assistant to the Senior Advisor for Policy and Communications at the White House during the Clinton Administration; Media and Public Events contracted specialist for the Obama Administration; and communications specialist at The North Face headquarters located outside Aspen, Colorado.
Ellen holds certificates of achievement from the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and a degree in Communications from the University of Scranton.
